EmotionaLAB is a unique research project in the field of emotional design, focusing on the use of recycled materials in product design. Its main goal is to create attractive, eco-friendly products that not only evoke positive emotions but also raise awareness of recycling and sustainability.

Design with a Positive Impact

In today’s design world, there is a broad spectrum of products—ranging from high-quality designs that promote positive emotions to poorly designed ones that suppress them. EmotionaLAB focuses on researching and developing designs that deliberately evoke appeal, joy, and positive user reactions.

The project also includes an educational aspect—products created within EmotionaLAB are not just design objects but also tools for teaching emotional design and material recycling.

Recycled Materials as the Foundation of Design

The primary material used in the project is 100% recycled plastic from Smile Plastics®. This unique material is made from PET bottles, cutting boards, and packaging waste, with each produced panel featuring its own distinctive design. The benefits of this material include:

Nature-Inspired Products
The products created within EmotionaLAB draw inspiration from nature and the animal world. These organic shapes and curved lines positively influence product perception and naturally evoke pleasant emotions.

Butterfly 

The Butterfly chair is inspired by the shape of a butterfly. It is made from smaller recycled plastic boards, maximizing material efficiency. Its soft curves and stable construction are designed to provide both visual appeal and comfort.

Woof! 

The Woof! stool is inspired by the iconic shape of a dog—humanity’s loyal companion. Children will love it as a playful element they can pull, ride, or sit on. Its robust yet playful design makes it a favorite addition to any home.
